The inexpensive all-rounder

Overview
The market for tablets has now become almost unmanageable. Almost every electronics manufacturer has its own range. After much to compare, I have now decided for the Asus ME181CX ProSieben Entertainment Pad 8 inch. Asus is a Taiwanese company that are especially made famous by laptops and PC hardware.
Deciding factor for me was the price / performance ratio, the appearance and the size in the first place. More than 200 euros I did not want to spend the Asus Pad is with 149 euros here again even a whole piece of the magical border.
I can already anticipate that the pad has my expectations more than exceeded. In this price range the ME181CX deliver an absolutely outstanding figure.

There is no branding of Pro Sieben, no Simlock or any kind of contract. You can use the device as normal without any restriction, as any other Android also. Pro Sieben one gives but a few extras which I discuss later.
Design
But the pad are available in different colors, I have gold selected, the dislike also has a number of other lovely colors. I like well, a black or silver pad has almost everyone. So why not a bit of attention?
The screen is 8 inches tall, does this mean for me the perfect compromise between visibility and portability. You can pack up the unit easily in a pocket, with me it even fits in your pocket and still has a large display so that you can properly watch movies or read books.

The battery life is also very good with 9 hours, competitive products in this price range reeichen significantly less.
At the end of a word to the sound: There are two speakers that really sound good. One must at such a shallow unit course not expect miracles, but I think the sound is more than adequate to time to watch a movie or even listen to music. My expectations clearly exceeded in any case. Operation
The ProSieben Entertainment Pad is delivered directly to the latest Android 4.4 (Kitkat). Here Asus has its own user interface called Asus Zen installed. This provides the UI very much nicer and striking than the standard Android. The icons are larger, clearer fonts and there are nice sound effects for different actions. I like the UI, everything seems all of a piece.

The services can be called up directly via a so-called pre-installed Mediabar. Those who do not want to, then the vouchers also ignore course and still has a great device.

This means that the pad can transmit his screen content wirelessly to any Miracast-enabled device (TV, projector, etc.). I am more than pleased with the Asus ME181CX ProSieben Entertainment Pad and can issue a strong buy recommendation. The ProSieben package is a nice touch, the one to get for free. From me there is reason for the unit earned 5 stars.
