The songs in detail [SPOILER]:
ELECTRICIAN - as Opener quite suitable (Electricians - electronic music - Electrolore ;-)); reminds thematically a bit of Reinhard Mey "I am plumber by profession"; the text flows quietly, but is full of ambiguities; the beat is managed
Do not think about the past - reminds rhythmically sharply "Homo Dance", "pounding" accordingly into the brain, but I know precisely why convince; the text in the chorus is magnificent illogical ... :-)
ARE YOU UP FOR? - Rhythmic bonds at "1, 2, 3"; AM typical laughs at the beginning; the chorus is similar to the cackling of a hen: "Have you B-Booock?" - Whether intentionally or not, it's funny; and he is isolated back: the Steel-drum sound of "Ciao, Ciao, Bella"; the synths at the end remember computer game music of the early 90s ('F-Zero' & Co.)
The time was GEIL - genius, cliche cluttered text; Surprisingly, catchy chorus; nice bridge
Doggy - only here does the album properly on driving; At last he is back: the minimalist, typical Alexander Marcus sound; Verses like rhymes from a children's song, lyrically as simple as it is no longer easy going (at the newly ;-)); the synths at the end recall the beginnings of Electrolore; m. E. the best track of the album; the place "for a few doggies are here today?" even after 30 times Listen still hilarious :-)))
I AM ME - very awesome 'Rap' experiment; Hammer-hip hop beat in the style of the 80s, the changes in the course of the song; Harpsichord sound as a bridge; the text - with quotations from Martin Luther and Dr. Alban * lol * (!) - only becomes really funny that nothing, absolutely nothing rhymes ...
IN ANY - one of the funniest songs of the album with a mega witty end; AM typical synthesizers, harmonies and choirs as Bridges; the sound is based on the German New Wave to ("Da, da, da"); rhythmically it gets toward the end even a bit 'funky'
THE POINT WHERE'S NOT back - the only peaceful, 'ballads like' track of the album; in the chorus harmonies in the style of the 90s; Alex '' singing 'at the end: a' listening '! ;-)
STOP ... and on - really pure 90s Techno / -Dancefloor, still an experience for the ears (when the hi-hat and later the synths à la to come '2 Unlimited' ... 'Hello youth!' ^ ^); funny idea, again and again with "Stop ... and continue" to interrupt the song
Until breakfast - kept secret !!! Very funny text! The chorus is somewhat reminiscent of "thank you" from "Glanz & Gloria", but goes into the ear so that it is difficult to come out again: catchy danger! :-) - If anyone knows on which piece of another artist remembered this song, please write in the comment ... ;-)
YOUR SCIROCCO - something weak track; 80-Sound; as 'albums closers' m. E. less suitable; lyrically still quite funny
A star deduction is available for the bonus disc that contains only 2 pieces for my taste, offer the really 'new': one is the "Journey to the crystal," says in the AM, as the new album has been created and this - accompanied by the typical sound-AM (again let the 90s again greet) - basically rants about his musical work (not meant negatively - what I've thrown away when I heard the text for the first time; "My name is Alexander, Alexander Marcus "- creeps :-)), on the other hand, the marching band version of" Papaya "- divine! The rest consists only of remixes that - in my opinion - unfortunately offer no big surprises and not very innovative, some live recordings, while capturing the Concert Atmo quite well (I myself was ever live performances :-) ), but due to the marcus'schen voice rather moderate are not really worth listening to, and 4 instrumental versions of popular hits that make the 'final' good, but - sorry, Alex - ultimately rather as recycled 'filler' act. Conclusion of the bonus CD: Except for the two pieces that really offer 'new' (see above) had, Mr. Marcus merely fall short in the archive crate and a bit 'herumtechnisieren' to fill the second CD: A bit ' thin ', then therefore come with a double-CD. I would like better than the bonus disc a DVD - video clips to "carousel" (unfortunately never been released on DVD) or "doggy" (terrific awesome :-)!) Alex remains his fans guilty and who his 'pure' DVDs ( Unfortunately the film "Glanz & Gloria" / concert "Live in Berlin") does not have, the missed many other pearls of alexander'schen video art - even so had another bonus DVD album m. E. been better.
A final word of praise, I would like, however, to get rid of on the presentation of the album: It is a huge success and is very high quality. Cover and back are full of Alexander Marcus typical nonsense, even a papaya can be discovered. When opening [! SPOILER WARNING] one can expect a hissing Dino letting me already by itself smile again and again, when I open the album - The same applies to the image that is located behind the booklet. The latter is - next to the Electrolore booklet - the best ever, the ever designed on and his team: Front top an image from the doggy-Video and inside it, not only all the texts (as it should), but also a colorful hodgepodge further photos and graphics, which (in the positive sense) just laugh are (my favorite is the picture with the pink spacesuit ... :-)))). The CDs themselves are 'highly polished' [SPOILER END], as you'd expect from the Grand Master of Electrolore.
Conclusion: for Alexander Marcus fans, but also for those who want to be there, hopefully, this album is a must. Too bad that is reported in the media is no longer on this 'niche music' (advertising is probably due to the high cost prohibitive or impossible). Let us hope that there is at least enough for a chart placement and Alexander Marcus will inspire us for a long time with his work! Dear Alexander, thank you for everything! ;-)
