A Liberty City Reisefüher (including Quick Start Guide, unfortunately something very briefly) and a map are at stake. In the Batman comics called New York City Gotham City, Rockstar Games it is just referred to as Liberty City. And that is for me the greatest motivating factor was to move forward in the game. I wanted to see very quickly how Manhattan looks in this game! And it did not disappoint.
The control with the Playstation Move is not supported by this version of the game, but apart from GTA4 offers an excellent demonstration of the capabilities of the PS3! The SIXAXIS function of the Wireless Controller to helicopters and motorcycles can be moved by tilting the controller, if that is to fitzelig: you can turn off this feature, but it is still nice. The vibration function of the controller is about explosions or, especially nice to visit the pub used when the hero of the story, Niko Bellic, staggers through the area, visual dropouts included - this is just one of many, many details in this game that impressed me very much.
A sports car sounds and drives differently than a truck - these are just two examples of extremely far apart, but also similar vehicles have recognizable different driving characteristics. With a motorcycle accidents end up worse than with a lobster - which was also very well done in this game.
The graphics of the cut scenes looks, especially after you know Red Dead Redemption, slightly washed out and artificially made. Very much better does the design of Liberty City, thanks to various camera angles and countless details and possibilities of the Open World GTA4 often seems very realistic. Rain and day and night care for very different moods.
The sound of weapons and cars, could be better, but otherwise there is very good speech (in Manhattan then German tourists) and especially the many radio stations are great! Known hits from Kanye West and the Smashing Pumpkins, news, parodies of advertising and lifestyle - listening to the radio contributes greatly to the game ball from GTA4!
The control is not as beginner-friendly as with RDR. Especially Niko Bellic is not always so easy to control play through stairwells, as desired. Every now and then I accidentally pressed L3 and had to fret over a crouched, lame character.
The difficulty is not freely selectable, varies from mission to mission, but is generally getting increasingly bigger. The most important skills, particularly driving are fairly well taught with little tutorials in RDR liked the but better. When complete GTA newbie I knew at the beginning of the game is not that I set waypoints and must visit the mission timer, so that the game is progressing. Here the developers have too little thought of newcomers.
The main missions are composed of different tasks, usually there are chases and / or shootings, the more beautiful then the more unusual missions, in which about drove a race, an appointment chatting is made or is being driven by a crane on a skyscraper. Manages a mission not at first go, then there's a text message on cell phone and everything goes again from the front loosely, which was dissolved better in RDR, because there is no need to skirmish in GTA4 you have to travel all the way to the starting point again, which I often very annoyed, has often did I then abbreviated this way by taxi.
The side missions are at least as entertaining and above all less frustrating than some of the main missions. Internet cafes, Dates, strip club, television etc. - here illustrates nicely that Rockstar Games, a, really makes sense, at least 18 years developed shared game that GTA4 is to be understood primarily as a satire.
Here everything comes together: movies, car racing game, desolate Geballer, humor and above all a huge city to explore. By car driving through the city, stop, because you have seen what interesting, enter a shell and it will find a MP - this is only one of many experiences. A game you can play as an adult without occur childish. Then cinema and television act fairly outdated. Or even normal racing or shooting games. GTA4 is phenomenally well!
