Hard not to think of "Philosophy in the Bedroom" de Sade or "Dangerous Liaisons" by Choderlos de Laclos by reading this book, although his writing is wiser, less extreme: men face some guests, gathered somewhere in the south of France in our time, an idle lady twisted and made the bet to make his wise servant an obedient slave to all sorts of sexual fantasies.
The author uses (too) easily dialogues to advance his purpose; it's a small flaw that does not detract from decidedly catchy character of this novel, rather than pour into the gravel or moved voyeurism, chose the path of social painting showing a young woman being harassed by his employers, surrounded traitors and not daring to speak.
