Twentieth Century Blues is the most outstanding Weill for me - interpretation that I've ever heard. Faithfull manages to reveal Weill's songs in all its brokenness and living close to the listener, especially noticeable in the "Alabama Song", in which she and her broken voice all the suffering that contains the piece, crying out, and yet it always remains well in a audible frame. Also outstanding: Do not forget me by Nielssen, a song, sung without any pathos, going just because of his heart, the other of "Solomon's Song", in which they mitgibt their hard voice as accompaniment of simple score. Who does not like the beeping of Lotte Lenya, must simply buy this record!
