Albums Finnish swordtails of Ensiferum are now for many metalheads among the absolute highlights of the release calendar. The first three albums were all true masterpieces that have the band introduced a considerable cult status in a very short time. Meanwhile, is the fourth album in the wings, which goes by the name From Afar and me present a few days before the publication as a promo. The cover sheet as always the old swordsman and fans of the first albums to be musically immediately at ease. The Intro By The Dividing Stream will once worn by acoustic guitars and is strongly reminiscent of the previous intros the band. But who believes that with Ensiferum From Afar are marking time, is equal taught the following title track better: From Afar Ensiferum is in its purest form, but is in particular a step further. The song is fast, energetic and doing a bit bombastic arranged than previous songs of the band. Although purists will here turn up their noses, but you can tell just that Ensiferum have evolved their style and still write the brilliant catchy tunes that are no longer going to the listener after a few passes from the head. Also the next song Twilight Tavern is a typical Ensiferum number, but again shows the evolution of the band, this time in the form of a cleverly placed Women's Choir, which is a nice resting point before the song takes off again and comes to an end at a rapid finale. On the other song I will not go into detail, but a few facts there are still: With Heathen Throne and The Longest Journey are two songs with over 10 minutes on the plate and both bring enough variety not to be boring to. The remaining three songs offer classic Ensiferum-Power (eg Elusive Reaches), but also because this will deftly scattered interludes never boring (although the western melody should certainly not satisfied with Stone Cold Metal all). In conclusion, one can say that Ensiferum again deliver an absolutely strong album that is unlikely to disappoint a fan. The melodies are still distinctive, confident and production clearly shows that the band does not occur on the spot. In some songs you have to get Listen-but precisely for this reason is not the CD also in later runs boring. 10 points I can not forgive, despite all the enthusiasm that will probably remain reserved forever the unreached debut.
