Amat, 23, is a survivor of this terrible slaughter. Apparently it happens around to ROQUESSERRE, the farm he had to give up to serve his country as a stretcher-bearer, his mother a widow resumed masterfully and prospered with a multitude of servants and maids, but he not return alone, he brings with him DARIUS dog that allowed him to save many of his fellows under fire. He imagines during his train ride that a hero's welcome we will do the winners of the German but in fact he found a changing country where there is no mercy for the lame and somehow Amat in part because it has suffered the ravages of mustard gas but it is not seen at first glance, only unfortunately the day that his bride attends his fainting during the feast of the harvester ...
I do not approach history as the back cover, it would not add to the potential buyer of this novel. I will say that I found this a bit cold Amat, like his mother, certainly his experience does not undertake much volubility but I thought that the author could have made us its warmest main character. As for the dog, DARIUS, there is little question, it is present only small moments of history, indeed decisive. It is this lack of empathy with the characters, unlike the novel "Dumb Dogs" which meant that I was limited to four stars, because for the rest of this novel deserves its five stars.
