In the family "I do my orange juice myself", three schools of thought for decades:
- The juicer manual: the most economical (less than 3 euros), but also the most tiring if you have to make juice for several persons;
- Electrical: delicious but not ecological (and impossible to use in case of power failure);
- The piston here present.
The lever juicer attempts to reconcile the advantages of the first two cited:
- Ecology: no electricity;
- Easy: just press a lever to extract the juice of an orange.
Very easy to use, however, this system has two disadvantages:
- There is no pulp in the juice;
- We must exert sufficient pressure: a child can not obtain an optimal result.
Good to know: the colander is a bit small for a grapefruit.
Regarding this EcoJuicer after a few days of use, the device looks solid, if not well finished.
The base, one would expect in cast aluminum is actually a sheet metal, so it is hollow and light: it should be maintained when pressing an orange, or risk seeing the equipment switch.
Do not panic though, the sheet being thick it does not give the impression of having to bend under excessive pressure.
Similarly, the bracket is secured to the base by a good old well beefy bolt, which may eventually become loose over time, but it will be easy to tighten.
However, molding the footsteps of various metal parts are deburred wrong places, it spoils the appearance, not use.
Strainer and container are dishwasher safe, but everyday simply rinsing with clear water is enough: there is no corner where the pulp may remain stuck.
Finally, what makes it even better, and despite its perfectible finish, it is a beautiful object that you will enjoy seeing your work plan.
Practical, solid, decorative why 3 stars?
1. The finish.
2. Price: This appears EcoJuicer 38.80 including shipping .. For this type of object, and given the finishing more than average, I expected that the price is between 25 and 30 .
In conclusion: Good alternative to electric citrus press, provided that you are not addicted to the pulp. A little bit expensive at the current price of 38.80.
