For several months I have been very pleased with the hard drive, until one day the machine was no longer recognized by my computers (PC and Ultrabook with MS Windows 7 and later 8), although the drive rödelte per se and also the power LED light on the external Housing blinked. Thus, it could only be connected to the contacts, as well as an exchange of the USB 3 cable not brought. The crux of my hard drive (and in other ...) was really the removable USB 3 interface adapter, which probably had a bad contact or was defective. The very nice online support Seagate has with after description of the problem and an indication of serial and product number (the warranty status is detected automatically) free sent a new adapter.
Since my problem to Internet searches is really at various models not an isolated case, I advise of this Seagate construction with removable interface adapter definitely off. The hard disk itself is only one star worth of online support from Seagate, which has appropriately and quickly responding and free delivered me a replacement adapter, brings the second star.
Nevertheless, this hard drive is not recommended ...
