The first single release 'Nichimgriff' aroused the interest in me. Songs like 'OK', 'Shower' and 'Ten' showed Farin time in slightly tinged nu-metal robe whom I prefer to his other songs, because he thus most distances himself from his 'doctors' (but this retro perspective total for all his solo albums applies). After 'Nichimgriff' I hoped therefore that one would make that whole album a bit harder and more progressive: Why else let go first as a board on the fans ?! I regret to say that this first song absolutely not representative of 'The Truth About Lies's', where I can well imagine that this was intentional. While putting songs like 'Never' and 'maps' the style of the above mentioned songs continued and also quieter songs like 'The body' can convince me completely. By contrast, going songs like 'Pakistan' or 'strange' but completely under. The latter was at least still lyrically / topically at a high level remains 'Pakistan' to evaluate only a total failure. By contrast, songs are like 'war', or 'Disarm' which in Farin's predominant style rocking Attending perfect again (lyrically and musically). Finally, I like this sound of the Lord holiday of course, but I like it just harder but slightly better. In stylistically completely uncharted territory, the Racing Team also dared and achieved by getting used to 'The Island' at least a decent hit. From the lyrics I'm thrilled, in which his socially critical topics with very few exceptions succeeded with flying colors. Also impressed me the musical diversity: The 'serfs' racing team (which basically consists of guitar, bass and drums are made) added in the songs small but important elements. These often go towards ska, blues and dance and give thanks to perfect harmony the album a certain touch. The best example of the variety of his songs makes 'war'. Overall, after several attempts, now 4/5 stars! For each old as well as new forms supporter 'The Truth About Lies's' a good album, provided you bring the necessary time with.
