A really good reader. I bought six months ago, the PRS-600 and was with the display and the "Touch-behavior" but very unsatisfied. Now the PRS-650: a quantum leap. Barney Sharp, super contrast (manually readjustable) thanks to new infrared Pearl e-ink display, finger wipe - almost - like on the iPad. And since then I've figured out how you can easily change the ugly eg Georgia Sony "typeface" thanks Calibre - residue-free enthusiasm! In addition, you can really the reader now available in a hold hand fatigue, because he has become slimmer and slightly smaller - and now 215 grams instead of 286 grams weighs (Original Sony details). This makes fast positive effect of Marathon readings. Nevertheless, the new Sony still offers a very solid, high-quality optics and processing. The built-in dictionaries are very helpful for readers in particular of foreign literature and offer translations on tap. The "loading of books" is "foolproof". You can on the included software completely dispense and simply connect the computer to the PC, then it behaves like an external hard drive and you just copied into eBooks. The lack of "wireless connectivity" I have not missed here. Tools are available from Sony, unfortunately, no longer (the PRS-600 had a simple envelope, including, the PRS-505 is a high-quality shell). The lack of power supply is, however, not be missed, since the reader is loaded just as well with a USB cable via the PC. Although the presentation of PDFs to be desired partly leaves something (which I'm sure not know if that is due primarily to the reader or to the relevant PDFs itself) is, the PRS-650 for heavy readers of books, preferably in the ePub format, currently the reference on the market. The Kindle 3 has (also thanks to Pearl e-ink) has the same print quality, but I find the Sony Reader total handy and compact and - because it accepts ePubs - flexible. Christmas tip!
