The antenna is delivered with a fix-mounted, four-meter long connecting cable. In addition, the package is a German operating manual which for once does not include the usual google translator madness. Although just with an indoor antenna, the manual is rather unimportant.
So after the antenna, which is about 16 x 23 cm measures and supposedly only 0.7mm thick unpacked, I concluded it to our TV on, and launched the terrestrial station search.
The following results is yet to say that we live in a suburb of a big city and the signal coverage while terrestrial TV is slightly lower than in the city. For us it is always advisable to use a signal amplifier.
* In the first experiment, the antenna was behind the TV on the wall. The TV is in the living room in the middle of a solidly built brick house with suspended ceilings made of reinforced concrete. The search brought in this case only a few stations that due to the poor reception were full of all image artifacts and audio breakup.
* For the second experiment, I put the antenna on a box near a window and re-launched the channel scan. This time nine stations have been found. However, the image quality was poor. Again, image and sound skip.
* As in the instructions, I placed for the next pass, the antenna on the inside of a window with 3-layer glass and UV protection. This time, 15 channels were found. Found had few artifacts and had no sound skip.
* In the last test, I placed the antenna on the outside of the window and found during the search, all 26, in the region free to air, channels. The picture was good and the sound as well.
* Finally, I tried again behind the TV, but this time to a receiving amplifier. The result corresponded to the test with the external antenna.
The antenna does so, is really extra thin and can thereby also good in the living room integrated. However, I think it will not work for most users without receiving amplifier. Therefore, one should keep in mind that you will need an additional empty socket for connecting the amplifier in TVs.
Conclusion: The reception quality is somewhat limited at the expense of the ultra-thin design, but can be lifted by a, also offered by 1byOne, amplifier, whereby the antenna works great. She looks really good.
