Among the thousands and thousands of books that have been written on the stock market this one is one of the best. First it was written by someone who has actually made money on the stock market. Peter Lynch was in the 1970s and 1980s the world's best portfolio manager, head of Fidelity Magellan fund. In this book he shares his secrets, precautionary statements and reveals the many pitfalls that must not fall when playing the stock market. So he advises against playing down by short selling and play on the options markets or "80 to 95% amateurs lose." He also advises "know resist your human nature and your intimate convictions" and "keep your actions as their fundamentals are good", that is how Peter Lynch got such big returns, he kept shares whose price has multiplied by 20 or more instead of selling when the price has increased by a small percentage. It also recommends investors to initially buy a house to live in, the safest and least taxed investment.
Peter Lynch is full of humor, full of timely and written in a very colorful style. It runs through the book with great pleasure, and we can not help annotate pencil in hand so it is rich in ideas. If it has managed or manages a portfolio of stocks we understand much better the mistakes that we have committed, even if it lacks essential advice as long-term investments as does Warren Buffett or sell when its shares fell by an excessive percentage ("STOP LOSS"). Personally it helped me tremendously when I played the stock market at a time, and I was able to verify the relevance of the advice Peter Lynch, but I could make lots of money because I have not enough given that advice.
A book that can be read several times discovering each time new elements. If there is only one book to read on the stock exchange it is this one.
