with only 1-2 doors between stable 90-99 Mbit, from the 3rd door '' around the corner '',
Bad, children and bedrooms Fantastic, depending on the room, stable 66 to 85 of Mbit,
the Ping goes into the '' around the corner '' rooms, from previously 15! - 25 ms to 30 - 40 ms down.
The same tests in the 2.4 GHz band, between 10 to 20 Mbit worse. Toll!
My 100 Android phone (2.4GHz) has all 13 Mbit down and 6 Mbit up, crass :-)
IPhone 4S speed not tested but trouble playing HD videos.
The IPad benefits greatly from the 5 GHz band in the whole house 24Mbit download and 6 Mbps upload.
More is not net.
Im here really crowded 2.4GHz band 14-17 Mbit. Ping to the 30ms in both bands.
With a DLink-615 I had to 1.5Mbit, Ping in the 100 range.
The range is impressive on all devices, in the '' small '' at the limit.
Although the notebook, iPad or mobile phone is moved one has stable reception, that was with no router
before nearly as good. I have in the whole house no Funkloch.Toll.
None of my equipment is able to receive 450 Mbit, 100 Mbit but my line is exploited,
Data I move rarely on the network.
PS3 and Wii Super run. Games do not lay, WOW.

The router is very responsive, eg. I reel at videos on YouTube that are not yet loaded, anywhere, without delay playing the video that is already on the iPad and iPhone that. On the notebook sites are loaded instead of 8 after 2 seconds, with the N-capable DLink was (with the same 100Mbit connection) not so.
While two large downloads, 4 (updated) HD watch videos at the same time, no problem.
All tests were done with '' naked '' devices, I have no special USB stick.
Transfer rates between 2 notebooks I test times later.
The router runs fast, very stable and looks good :-) what more could you want.
For Voice, the power supply and the router are subtle blue LEDs.
The 3 antennas have to screw and the outer in a 45 'degree angle

300 Mbit enabled notebook.
For the 2.4 GHz band, the professional tests is to say, normally
no 50 foreign router, which can be received in every room also have a source of interference.
Therefore, the only good 2.4 GHz band result was absolutely okay and in my case also predictable.

I once listened with inSSIDer, like many other networks can be found; 54 day and 51 at night in the 2.4 GHz network and only one other beside me in the 5 GHz network.
We live next to a hotel, so the 2.4 GHz results are truly '' worst case ''.

Brady's Rezesion.
Power consumption of 10W is appropriately loud C't performance .; 4-6 W are not normal when simultaneous dual-band routers. After rummaging in the C't s 16, 22, 26/11 was the most economical dual-band simultaneous! Routers Belkin with 6W. Others went off at 8,1W. So finally found time to use the device as a media server. The two USB ports are bored otherwise yes.
Have an old 160GB 2.5-inch hard drive in an external 2.5-inch housing reingebaut (6 here at Amazon), formatted with NTFS.
Then three folders created, music, photos. Filled with 15,000 pictures, 30 videos and 10,000 MP3s.
Then connected to the router with a short USB cable.
About the Asusoberfläche then turned on the media server, scanning .... ... Puhh 10min .... Idle ... Okay ready.
FTP release for the PC was, thanks to fix video in the ASUS GUI.
(With external 500GB hard drive my wife it was a trial without problems)
Turned on the PlayStation3 and folders music, video and pictures I found my hard drive, with all the data. Super!
IPad 1 + 3 and iPhone come with the right app, without any problems at all the data. 1080p videos can be played smoothly. My pictures are 2-3MByte large, it takes only half a second until one is loaded, the DLNA app on the iPad is going very well and the router is very responsive. My Win 7 notebooks come easily to the data.
Super, a LowCost- media server, just an external hard drive with data fill, connect, ready :-)
But wait, according SmalNetbuilder should be in there via FTP only 3.6 MB per second. Was a major criticism in the first tests.
Nope! Only in the first BIOS versions ....
I recently on YouTube, 1080p video demos discovered (Surftip -demoscene.org), cost / Royalty Free graphic art, and a lot of downloaded.
Copied 20 GB of videos via FTP to the plate and was flat as fast as they could, according to Windows copy window about 6 MB per second. Hmm, the time had about an eye .... fits around ...?! I wanted to test after all.
Stopwatch provided and 1550MByte copied 265 seconds that are more than 5,8MByte! per second !!
WOW That's right orderly.
I think soon hangs a 1TB large, low-power 2.5-inch hard drive and all backups run over WLAN, if my wife needs its own harddisk, there are two USB ports. :-)
Kudos to Asus, the BIOS is really well maintained and weaknesses are eliminated.
I did not expect after the first negative experiences on the net.
More expensive router, good BIOS care. Super.
So it should always be.
