Beggars Banquet (Audio CD)

Customer Review

the 60s were probably transform especially in England an absolutely magical time for young musicians their fantasies in a rocker lifestyle.
on the who met to the, to the Kinks, the Beatles, and especially to the Rolling Stones.
Perfectionism was replaced by zeal, skill by will, especially on the stones hitting the to.

A highlight of her work marked "Beggars Banquet" from the year 1968th
for the stones the previous two years had been merciless. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were arrested by Keith and asked court before the house. of excessive drug abuse of Brian Jones, the original so highly talented, hopeful musicians had him turned into a shadow of itself.
and they verrannten with the aimless, inconsequential "their satanic Majestys request" from 1967, which was tied here undoubtedly at the fag crash.

from this chaos emerged "Beggars Banquet". psychedelic studio tricks were out, the Stones returned to their roots in country and blues back that stood them damn good, with a lot of acoustic guitar they schuffen a classic, with anticipations of later on darker sides songs.

because we had the epic "Sympathy for the Devil". a timeless classic that should be a benchmark for the stones. here an infamous text is offered to mercilessly driving samba rhythms. Richards shows remarkable guitar playing, jones conspicuous by its absence, but remember to "no expectations" with its slide guitar back to ancient times.

or the great snotty "Parachute Woman" much cooler than Jagger can hardly sing ...
the welcoming, rhythmic title "Street Fighting Man" is as much a highlight as the emotional, baladeske number "Salt of the Earth" which I consider to this day as one of the best stones numbers ... close and continuous at the right moments just beautiful .. ,

sound-wise, I find this CD in particular, very Ordung, the prevailing mood is wonderfully over, so go well (4 out of 5 stars for this)

Conclusion: the gloomy country blues of this disc became the embodiment of sounds, which the Rolling Stones albums celebrated on the following three with perfection, the next four years, up to "Exile on Main Street" in 1972 are for me still their golden age , a disk that is almost mandatory, fun. partly kraƤftig, partly pensive touching ....
