Volume up, top down on, towards the horizon! As Hal released their first single "Worry about the wind" in England, interested in Germany again for nobody. Quite different in England. The NME declared the single debut for Single of the Week. This means, however in the last few years no longer much. Too often bands were hyped up and left quickly fall back. However, this year seems to be different all a bit. The UK experienced a musical resurgence, Brit-Pop is more popular than ever. Oasis will not dissed her new disc, exceptionally, Doves go from zero to 1 on the charts, Athlete are cheered despite her Cockney accent, British Sea Power to create a krachigen debut turnaround and The Thrills sound almost as if they at Bondi Beach would be born in Sydney. I will not let Thirteen Senses, Keane and the delays mentioned, but even to those Hal come quietly therefore. I want to strings, winds, piano, the whole feeling Kitsch. And I need sometimes a banjo. Hal Curling all that stuff. And with that call a few questions out: A band that lives musically in the past, but whose members are only mid-twenties? The newest Rough Trade child, although one in particular, those groups may there, the music rejoice in the zeitgeist? And anyway, why play such music gutaussende guys? Those are the ones for whom the thirst Desperate Housewives! It really is time to discover the songs of men. The first impression is: My Banjo there with "I sat down," But these are the guys from The Thrills and Hal come from Ireland What must have happened in this country, that there are bands that and their Byrds-.!? Beach Boys influences live so shameless! The guitars grate liquorice, harmony singing is always made of gold and on the drums, nobody skin to firm it. "What a lovely dance" prances lightly in the ear canals, suddenly turning off towards the center. Then "Play The Hits", in which the Beach Boys waving from all sides (produced by Edwyn Collins - the guy who sounds like David Bowie), "Keep Love As Your Golden Rule" is reminiscent of a loving Beatles ballad " Do not Come Running "has a lot of momentum," My Eyes Are Sore 'has a bombastic end. They all feature a small surprise or a brisk chorus or even a quiet verse. The violins finale of "Satisfied" however seems a bit too wanted rock. Conclusion: Hal turns out to 11 songs from their eponymous debut album al nostalgia machine! Hal is simply irresistible and makes for very best mood. Volume up, top down to get out of the sun and have fun with this fine plate.
