The standard lamp 2014: practical experience

I have now used the lamp for months in many night shifts in a nursing home. The lamp covers an incredibly wide range of applications from: In low mode I control the pupillary reflexes, medium mode I have indirectly sufficiently illuminate enough light to a small space during inspection rounds and in maximum mode I light a full parking lot and green areas from about stray / look confused patients.

For this, the lamp is still incredibly durable (already survived many falls), completely waterproof and has a raised any doubt operating concept. It is light, compact and can be with the clip secure it in your pocket easily and safely.

Every 2-4 night services I invite the 2600mAh NiteCore battery (18650), always if the maximum mode of 1050 Lumens brightness shows no more jump, ie no difference is visible between High and Turbo. Then the battery has come down that it needs to be charged for a few hours - that is virtually an indirect battery level indicator. I plan go up a stronger battery. When do I reserve CR 123 batteries, which I so far never needed.

In short, for this price, there is nothing like it from other brand manufacturers. ThruNite also has an excellent customer service (once had a problem with another lamp). I can not imagine a situation where I do not want to have this lamp. Your borders arrives only when you want to use the high modes longer because 1x18650er naturally limited can provide juice and the temperature could be possibly too high (no temperature shutdown or step-down). Through the low mode is also useful if you even need a few days of light and has no access to batteries / accumulators. For longer trips, they should of course complement with a lamp that can be used with AA batteries, because they are really available anywhere.

In short, with this lamp does not go wrong, but everything right. Buy and ready.
