Objective:
Primary I wanted high-quality stereo and digital sources (Apple TV), secondarily sometimes the chance to let it rip something in TV and film.

Sound:
After so long, I know my boxing, you have now heard in some combinations and know that they are really good. But in connection with the SR7008 the sound result is sensational.
The SR7008 recorded the above boxes with a tangible warm sound with powerful, accurate bass, balanced mids and clear, pleasant treble. The Surround result is even before the not yet performed calibration more than impressive.
There as a lay is very hard for me to describe technically qualified this sound, I describe times the effect: The SR7008 conjures with playful ease a broad grin across his face, the next moment a shiver down the spine and then tears into the eyes of Ü40-man. And even the dearest acknowledges that the sound is really good fun!
Connections and Technology
3D and 4K he has, but are not that important to me. Connections are available for just about everything, both front and back, all is well described in the technical data. I missed the WLAN connection, something should really be standard, have it but with the additional interest acquired TP-Link TL-WR702N Wireless Nano Router (802.11b / g / n, up to 150Mbit / s transfer rate) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] retrofitted in 5 minutes.
Design and Ergonomics
The Bullseye Design with reminiscences of a bygone era reveals its charm in my opinion, only in the variant in silver: against a white wall of SR7008 falls in silver due to the lack of displays almost as Bolide on. Basically, the display does not lack so, it is only discreetly hidden in a porthole. There does not disturb the appearance, but also not to use information technology from a distance of more than one meter.
Under the flap is the big additional display that the 7008 also differs from its smaller brothers and that was very important to me when buying. I must admit I have overestimated the importance of this second screen. Because in the end of 7008 verfrühstückt all leaked resources optimally in Auto mode that you do not feel the need to constantly optimize settings, one is simply only concerned with enjoying. That's a completely new and unfamiliar feeling ...
As a "matching" Supplement to glowing blue outline of the porthole, the remote control in the 80s-chic yellow-orange lights, also adaptive and programmable - not really use but. Mostly they have been due to lack of ergonomic features first upside down in your hand and the buttons are illuminated indeed, but only labeled in the illuminated area, if the text is not too long. Conclusion:
The decisive factor is the sound and for that we love the device. It's just fun. About the design concept may be disputed, on the ergonomics certainly. But despite all the criticism: less than 5 stars do not go. :-)
