The filter cartridges are suitable for both systems, and I have to replace about 1x / month and I have therefore only times ordered the 3 + 1 pack of BWT, because the price was just the best. Likewise, I have also already tried the original cartridges of WMF since there is no difference. They are individually wrapped and can be kept as well.
To drink I prefer still unfiltered tap water or out of the bottle. The filtered water with the pitchers I feel and also the rest of the family, although as soft, but slightly bitter, coffee / tea, I use it like, the devices sake. The tastes are of course different and the water values play as probably also play a role, as does the question whether it is useful to "upgrade" the water with magnesium.
For me, the filter pitchers still make sense and the cost of 4 - to 5 - are affordable monthly. Thus, I can save the (more expensive) water filter for Saeco coffee machines and the annoying installation.
