Howard Shore has not only written beautiful music that fit the scenes of the movie, he has also built more appeals to Lord of the Rings trilogy. Whether the mood is now threatening, hopefully, combative, heroic, desperate or triumphal, the sounds fit to like chalk and cheese. Even more than in the previous films, there are thereby indicated musical themes that come into the ring trilogy apply. Billy Boyd's "The Last Goodbye" is another highlight, and agrees more conciliatory than Annie Lennox 'self-pitying "Into the West", the sounds of The Return of the King at the end.
