Even if a good year before with "Tha Last Meal" appeared his best No Limit album, Snoop succeeded in my opinion, only with this album again to establish itself at the top of the rap business, remained but the last 3 albums all at once were, despite added some real hammer-songs very innovative and Snoop's style sank a little in the cheap no-limit synth beats and the sing-song of the many features of the (then) no-limit Posse and the rest of the represented artists from the R & B and hip-hop community. On "Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Bo $$" against the Beats look fresh, varied and let a not remember that this man a few years earlier still by many as rather annoying leftover from the 1st generation of gangsta rapper was seen. Even Snoop Style comes finally punchier therefore, even though he (in contrast to its predecessor, where he drew attention to himself even as Gangsta) presents itself as a pimp and still (or rather finally) sounds so relaxed and cool as on "Doggy Style". There are many very good and brilliant songs, but unfortunately, some mediocre, but they are better classes than the tracks from No-Limit era, as many innovative from her beat and much punchier rapped. As a thoroughly successful Anspieltipps can the two Neptunes productions "From Tha Chuuuch To Da Palace" and "Beautiful" see, for me the two best tracks on the album. In addition, "stoplight", "Lollipop" with Soopafly, Jay-Z and Nate Dogg, the smoothe "Ballin '", the remake of Eric B. & Rakim's classic "Paid in Full" here as "Paper'd Up" with the still on "Tha Last Meal" so very annoying KoKane, but now Mr. Kane and also not so annoying that cool "From Long Beach 2 Brick City" with Warren G, Nate Dogg and Redman and diss track against Death Row boss Suge Knight, "Pimp Slapp'd" as much to mention very successful titles and they are actually as good as the two Neptunes tracks. The rest of the songs is even very well done, but here stands out not a song especially, but you can not say that even a song has gone bad. The worse songs on this CD were namely some of the best have been on his previous albums. So this CD is any recommended to the innovative, but still cool gangsta rap or like Snoop, but who rather liked his No Limit albums, should probably remain at this, because nothing reminds of past times, yet for me next jiggas "Blueprint 2", Nas' "God's Son" and Talib Kweli's "Quality" one of the best albums of 2002. By the way: If you snoop only since the new CD "R & B (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece" know, should they here already access because "R & G" is the logical continuation of the work it has on this CD path, even though it may still have a verstärkteren R & B factor, because on this CD dominate next R & B more electronic and modern sounds!
