Already with the publication of the debut album `Fears` I fell in Lotl. Other plates of dark rock / alternative / goth scene have given me so far either musically well-liked, but lacked the lyrical depth or vice versa. With `Fears` I held for the first time an album in your hands, its overall approach me thoroughly convinced. But who wants to read a critique to `Antagony` here knows the first album anyway and know what I'm talking about.
Now the `Ameisenqual`.
Already the single release 'Sex On Legs` and the associated video shoot on the Reeperbahn could imagine would be of the caliber `Antagony`. The immediate pre-order the limited edition album was self-evident, the brilliant tour opener at Hellsinki -. To coincide with the launch of the album - took me by no means surprising, but equally enthusiastic and confirmed in my premonitions. `Antagony` is certainly one of the best albums of the genre that I've ever heard. Where `hören` really is wrong, because` Antagony` is more experienced and felt. What I would like to briefly come to the disadvantages of the album.
1. One can not hear `Antagony` quietly. Light dishes to Nebenherträllern that is not certainly. Blessed is he who enjoys 5.1 and benevolent neighbor has ...
2. `Antagony` makes absolutely addictive. The songs are not only musically on the highest level, but also in their mood partly so melancholy and heavy that you inevitably long mulling over the deeper meaning of the lyrics. Other songs in turn push - in `Fears` style - so far forward that you otherwise can not, as to set in motion. That's all there to `Antagony` but already not suspend.
While `Fears` dealing mainly with the subject of love and all its fears, going` Antagony` much further, even deeper into the psyche. Some songs appeal quite clearly to their own ability to criticize and call for self-reflection on, while others leave room for interpretation, and encourage you to thoughtfully deal with his life. The title `Gegenspieler` or whatever you want to translate, like a red thread through the album. Who listens intensely the album will notice how yin and yang are interdependent and that there can be no shadow without sun.
Despite all the current recommendations and `CD of Woche` tips is` Antagony` for me still an underrated album that offers in its overall concept, much more than is perhaps out listen to the first impression. With what intention you look at `Antagony` ever ordered, the desire for mature Goth rock or the confidence in their own ability to read between the lines and` Lord Of The Lost` to conceive as a philosophy or just as a musical accompaniment to the search for their own truth - in any event, this CD has earned five stars !! I'm looking forward to the third plant ...
The truth is written between the lines.
