I photograph for years with D300 and D80 in reserve, mainly with fixed focal length in a range of photography. Super zoom I previously would not hear. Inspired by Scott Kelby I bought a year ago a used 18-200 VRII - and do not want to give it up again. All listed critical points agree. With certain focal lengths becomes rough sometimes vignetting, with only minor exemption and hassle of extension of the tube when let down not particularly bright hanging camera. But all these shortcomings through the universal usability, speed, which made after all outstanding optical performance, this borders on a miracle VR II in the field of photojournalism and street photography by far offset. For many tasks I reach still the first option on fixed focal lengths back, but what I have previously missed go for pictures, because I only had to change the lens!
