I have the M500 installed in a Macbook Pro mid 2012 - to replace a Samsung SSD 840 ...
The SSD was immediately recognized, there were no delays in Snow Leopard and Mavericks (13A558) at boot time.
There is no Firmware Downloads for the product .. The read rate is my Macbook Pro with 554 MB / s, the write rate at about 240 MB / s. There has been no blue screens or "Beach Balls" Compared with a Samsung SSD840 Basic absolute alternative!
Addendum of 09/10/2013:
The SSD is now since a few days in operation (562 hours, 321 times Power On lt. SMART) and now I have all the Mavericks DP version to GM (13A598) installed. Everything is super - no failures and no other incidents. The Trim Enabler runs cleanly with the SSD and shows temperature and the status of the disk of course. A firmware update, there are not as yet - no need! Because everything is clean!
Addendum of 11/15/2013: For some weeks now I have the firmware update MU03, which was published on 24/09/2013. The update could be without error install (Macbook Pro 15 Mid 2012), I have the feeling as if the shutdown of speeding, otherwise the SSD is gratifying unremarkable - easy, fast and reliable.
Update from 31.03.14: I've gotten 4 of drives with 256 GB in use. The update to MU05 proceeded without any problems (at a Macbook Pro and a Lenovo W500) The SSD responds with the new firmware felt more quickly, immediately noticed this when I have a lot of services and startup objects are loaded at start up. Data problems, there has been none. No blue screens, Grey screens or Beachballs .. No integrity errors. Still simply inconspicuous, but at the same time quickly.
