But for the rebels demand a high price: Day and June to help the Patriots to kill the new Elector. During June to regain his confidence and that of the Republic, to Day prepares for the attack. ---------
I guess I'm not the only one who was excited by Marie Lu's debut "Legend" :-) While Day and June have been fighting in the first part, they go in the highly anticipated sequel jointly against the Republic before that both the family has taken. And in my eyes is the second part of its predecessor while in every way, but continues the story thrilling and consistently.
Day and June have managed to escape from Batalla Hall, but they had to sacrifice a lot for it. Now they flee together to the patriots to free with the help of Days little brother and then fleeing to the colonies. But the demands that make the Patriots for their help, are high: both to kill the new Elector Primo and thus bring the Republic to case. But this is actually the best for their country?
Prodigy is once again written very exciting, there were no lengths or scenes in which bored, even if the story this time a lot more emphasis on the internal conflicts of the main protagonists. Marie Lu moves in the continued path of many mysteries that have identified the first part, towards the core of the story: the revolution against the oppressive military government. We accompany Day and June into the heart of the resistance and even to the side of the Electors and are deeply involved in the political machinations.
Particular attention has this time laid on the development of the characters the author. While we have come to know Day and June as strong-willed characters, both are struggling in this part with uncertainties. June, who was from an early age in the favor of the Republic is not sure if she wants to see the Republic of ever fall. Could the Elector Andes not exactly bring the change that their country has so desperately needed? Day, however, is uncertain about his feelings for June. If the privileged favorite of Republic really settle for a life on the side of a poor thief, but even if the Elector courting her?
Clear that the tension between the two leads to a lot and they move away slowly from one another:
"The chasm between us widens. I wonder if I'll ever be able to reach the other side again."
While Day acts out his feelings passionate, June not even bring mostly the right words on the lips to convince Day of her feelings for him and pushes him so repeatedly on the head. This development, I found very sad and many times I would have packed both the most and shaken and yelled at them to zusammenzuraufen again. But this development is also quite understandable, because Day and June now come even from different worlds and which leads us Marie Lu painful time in mind.
Apart from the conflict between the two, we learn in the second part and to know more about the world outside the walls of the republic. And we finally learn how it has come to the outbreak of the war in the formerly united America and how the Republic has developed into what it is today. And although there is no evil cliffhanger ending part 2 but very dramatic and promises to be a truly emotional and thrilling finale in the third part. I for one feverish the trilogy conclusion "Champion" very spellbound counter, which on 05/11. appears.
