What an exciting idea: to explain the world by means of 100 museum objects. Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum, initially developed for the BBC a series of articles in which he defined pieces of his museum to be particularly characteristic of individual periods or stages of development of world history and then - not just describe but explains the world based on the pieces. So much education as they want to have one. It's a huge pleasure to read the book, you get fancy a visit to the museum, but above all you get fancy in-depth study of the world!
