Was the first part quite true when it comes to music in the film and music on the album, so it is in the second part is not always the case. Some pieces are suites containing the material to different scenes and characters, but as a compilation and not as it appears in the film.
"Jack Sparrow" is directly as a piece. Jacks subject only performed by a single instrument, always continues to build on and goes into well-known melodies, before it opens at the end in a new action theme, which is admittedly very great. A great track but as the film never found.
"The Kraken" introduces a theme for the octopus, and it is as simple as it is ingenious. A melody that goes into the ear immediately and always continues to build up before they will discharge into an action spectacle which receives a choir and even an organ in the composition.
"Davy Jones" is a piece to match the character and shows a good counter-pool for monster from "The Kraken" a vulnerable bittersweet melody for the cursed Seeman, which is slowly accompanied by strings, and room Talent emphasizes to write a character appropriate music. In the second part of the other side comes into play and an organ speaks for sheer power and brutality.
Already on this item you recognize how much more stuck to themes and identities in the second part and the Muisk acts as much more elaborate and round. "Dinner is served" is a small but impressive highlight with drums and strings which is the scene on the island highlights in the Will brought to the fire. Tortuge gets in a track an Irish folklore which is very funny missed.
After quieter "A Familly Affair" it goes to the highlight of the album. The Wheel of Fortune "Wheel of Fortune" is a damn strong piece of music. With the known pirate theme and elements of Davy Jones and the Actionthhema which is inserted in the first track excited it brutally over the entire length.
After the inconspicuous "You Look Good Jack" is about the last track with deep choirs and slow melodies to the final and the album is finished. For 10 minutes I think happens after too little.
Unfortunately, it lacks a lot of the album Materal what exists in the film, for example, the Cuttler Beckhet / East Indian Trade Company theme and the music in the fight against the Kraken. All this is available on the Treasure Chest Edition Collection of music but should have been in my opinion also on the album. Because of really a lot of material which is not present, I give here also not 5 star though the music would have earned in this case. What is positive is that the music sounds much more organic and not like the first part so much to computer sound.
Conclusion: Thoughtful and thematically much more elaborate sequel to the first part. You can tell the album that much more time was available and rooms writes the individual characters and places designs and themes. The sound is bombastic as usual rooms but much more varied and overall just strong. No complex or particularly delicate film music but very appealing, the success proves him right. Too bad that on this album the songs are not heard as the film and a lot of material is not present.
