Finally, the new album is released Faun, which has a multi-year development and maturation behind. And this can be felt! The album is a concept album, dealing with different religious and cultural conceptions of paradise; Of course with the biblical that appear repeatedly in different lyrics, but then also with ancient Roman (Lupercalla), Nordic (Iduna, Arcadia), Celtic (Ynis Avalach) or Turkish (Oyneng Yar). The Faune sing again in many different languages, what the overall concept of the album underlines once again: Latin, German, English, Norwegian, Finnish, Turkish, said English dominates on this album. We come to the Musical: The album convinces by its diversity, both by the language and by the musical arrangements! I think Faun have never used so many different instruments (at least it seems so), and they are perfect and brilliantly combined. The range of musical settings ranging from quick, strong beats (Lupercalla, Iduna, Oyneng Yar, Arcadia) to traditional folky (The Buttelfly, Adam Lay Ybounden, Polska Fran Larsson, Ynis Avalach) to more meditative pieces (Zeitgeist, Hymn to Pan , Alba, Golden Apples). Many vocal parts have absolute catchy, every song takes me in his own way out of the synagogue, and sent me on a journey ... Particularly impressive, I find again Rüdigers drumming and Fiona's skills on the flute. And the vocals of Oliver and the two ladies is anyway unmatched !! Genial is again the use of computer-generated beats, but has been missing in the last album somewhat. Conclusion: The album is a new highlight in the faun musical work, each song provides through song and exploitation the possibility to dive into another time, another culture - and to be entertained very good! In a magnificent landscaped supplement the background information on the individual songs and the lyrics themselves incl. In German and English are. Translation commanded, so that the purchase of the CD not only because of the music worth - ie, not just download, people ;-). BUY !!!
