At First of all I would like to get rid of something positive.
Very nice it is here to see that all the 22 songs of the concert was packed into Manchester on the live CD. As I then annoyed, as in the Greatest Day CD songs like "Could it be Magic", "A Million Love Songs" or the medley were missing songs. I particularly like the division into segments to show the history of Take That. First, Barlow, Owen, Orange and Donald alone, then Robbie and then all together. So the concept is also true.
But what I can understand absolutely not at all how you could mess up this live CD of the sound quality so. The song is partly too much bass, sometimes too much reverb.
Examples:
- Rock DJ - love this song, but here seems to me too much 'stadium feeling "on. I know it is a Live CD, but I would love to hear his voice and the instruments in the background clear out. For me this all sounds too dull.
- Pray - too much bass. The intro is as always very nice but as soon as the drums used can hear this in my opinion, barely, and the bass is extremely disturbing, no comparison to the Greatest Day version.
- Underground Machine - where Robbie Williams sets the tone in the album version in the chorus, you can hear Barlow most here. With him, it sounds as if he would be bored, which is not true, he sings so more in the background. But it is precisely here, I wished that Williams's voice comes out even more clearly.
- Love Love - big disappointment. The first verse of the song makes me confused already totally, I feel as if I was drunk because you once Barlow heard live and in the background, a little time delay, again. Sounds very oblique.
In the live DVD do not bother me these things because I have something for the eye here. But just when I have only what the ear, I want to enjoy music in a good live quality. I can not here. Just listen to then you will the Greatest Day Live versions hear the difference.
Top:
- 22 Songs
- Distribution of Setlist
Flop:
- Quality of the music
Therefore, there is of me only 3 stars, unfortunately. I would have really wished that the quality would be better.
