Curiosity made me finally impelled in this album not only a listen, but also to buy. Somehow we missed this summer not only the summer on their own, but also a summer hit of 2007. On this compilation I found anyway refreshingly hip movement-inspiring rhythms and interesting variations of well known classics. Clearly Cuban rhythms, to my knowledge this genre. Now blows me away "Clock" by Coldplay not from the stool, but with "Tonight" which offers a perfect combination of Cuban Orchestra and Reamonn's voice, it seems there already another out. That you can hear often that has catchy. Jack Johnson ("Embeds Together") can not trim to Cuban, the guy sounds probably equal lascivious boring if he would take a swing album or I care a country album. Well, I wanted to "only" blaspheme, yet meticulously dissect every song either. Although I find it exciting enough unfachmännisches drivel I am sorry to get rid of yet, be like Sting "Fragile" in Cuban rhythms packaged as the "old" Cubans "As Time Goes By" interpret. As Ibrahim Ferrer draws (blessed! This is his last shot. Unfortunately, ...) responsible. You want to cry. So beautiful! Somehow comes to getting this melancholically sympathetic "Buena Vista Social Club" feeling with the man. I think it's indescribable.
The album is definitely predictable success of its compilation, but I did not like negative chalk, because it offers an interesting mix and above all I am a crush on's first hearing in Omara Portuondos version of "Killing Me Softly".
There is only one reason why I'm doing me hard here with the highest grade. The original "Buena Vista Social Club" - album (the eponymous film by Ry Cooder and Wim Wenders) me is still better and has a great deal more character than this sampler. He is - as the mouse bites from no 'thread - a bit too smooth knit. Nevertheless, without a doubt an enrichment for the shelf and at least optimum musical entertainment for the summer outdoor party, or for hanging out - but then with cocktail in hand ... and listen!
