Once I have this snazzy grill times live, seen in a group that has grilled in a meadow, and then I made myself on the Internet at times clever about it, I had this thing just try yourself. So I ordered it, the grill with the Japanese-English name from the American manufacturer Mr. Flame (how original - sounds like a bad home shopping product), Made in China. As internationally!
Ordered and assessed, what do you get?
- A collapsible grill body, grill and at the same time is Anzündekamin
- 4 wire feet
- A drawer with plastic handle (which you should if possible screws from the inside out ;-))
- A slider that holds the two halves when folded together, at the same time the fire closes (at the end of choking the fire) and also as a handle for up and down set of grills used
- Two cast iron cooking grids
- A transport bag made of fireproof material
- A comprehensive paper manual and a DVD (the latter I've not looked at)
The first grilling:
The assembly is done quickly. The grates again done something clean (grease residues from the production), then test times as a page filled with coals and briquettes. In addition, a few coals in the bottom drawer kick-start. The coals in the drawer and the coal / briquettes soaked in barbecue halves with some Flüssiganzünder, Grill collapsed, left drawer and slide each about half open and lighted. Without sparks and without much smoke blazes immediately a nice fire in the grill, which is pulled by tight 15 minutes to a really good Gluht. Then close the drawer, remove the slide above and the halves (open with some support of the slide handle. And then the grates put something up and going on it can go. It should be noted here, perhaps, that the slide / handle something hot and pretty close to handled so on hot coals. This is indeed no accidents, but it is more comfortable with a barbecue glove.
It hisses and already is a really nice branding of cast iron grate in the flesh: So be it. Since the heat of the charcoal is pretty close enormously, the meat is crisp and quite fast, the pores close. Then turn again and let cook by. The result: crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside and beautiful through, after only a few minutes.
After the steaks were grilled, the grates sit back down and close the grill. Then I let drawer and slide open for a few minutes - now it was smoking proficient from the grill, the fat burned downright of the grates down. Then close the slide and drawer and let the grill so still stand for half an hour. Then the (still very hot) grill can in his pocket. Seriously? Here crept over me, like so many before me, a strange feeling. But it works. Half an hour later to the coal be completely suffocated and the barbecue can be brought in the car or home (at least in the House, I would recommend to let him stand rather outside, because CO poisoning danger - in the car should the window a crack leave open). The bag open again until the grill has completely cooled down, the manufacturer does not recommend, because as the left as pure fresh oxygen could light the fire again new. The next morning the ashes away - the briquettes were to use even for a second grill session!
The second grilling worked just as well. With briquettes we grilled to 5 people beaten 3 hours and suffocated briquettes could also again a second time can be set on fire.

When unpacking but then a little mishap: One of the two zipper zipper pocket jumped out of the guide and could no longer get in. Okay, you want the zipper anyway always close down and not centrally at the top, in the case provided work even so. But you have no redundancy when the second Zipper also gets broken, the bags no longer works as it should. Guests complained about, Amazon immediately sent a new grill, the old velvet defective bag they get then back tomorrow.
The new grille has the Son Of Hibachi Schritfzug the BBQ housing a small paint defects, the no longer bothers me. Except for the problem with the zipper (can always happen) and small scratches on the paintwork is the processing but properly.
Criticism of other reviews, the gratings could be put hard, I can not understand the old as well as the new grill. Among the reviews, someone would be times the rust bound, you have to perhaps warn that cast iron grates indeed save more heat and thus barbecue better, but are very sensitive to heat variations. So if the food to be grilled with beer quenches (which now is indeed well known that it eh nothing gustatory brings) or at the end of the grill clears with water rather than stifle it, risked in fact, that the rust jumps.
For singles, but also for small groups of 4-6 people the ideal barbecue for home and above all, on the go. The small processing defects that should not be expected in a still somewhat higher price range (compared for example with the various significantly cheaper products from Landmann), prevent the top rating of 5 stars, but do not interfere with the daily operation.
