This book is more than a classic! It dehulled everything that makes a fairy tale is. It allows you to step back and then understand what is happening or rather "may" happen in the mind of your child when you tell him a story. Whether you are in agreement or not with the analysis of Bettelheim's not the most important. What matters is that it guides you along the path of reflection and allows you and ask you questions about what you have always known and that also seems banal that you stick on your table. This book also definitely convinced me that I should make the effort to tell my stories in the evening and not read them. This is more efficient for the child and so much more pleasant for you same. This book is a must read before your child have the age of 3 or 4 years. If it is too late, read it for yourself!
