This amazing story is set in the early twenty-third century; REM, magnetic curtain divides the world into two parts, a West with its logical extreme and the rest of the world fell into turmoil after a hellish Russian-Chinese war and division between triads. The vision pushes through the West extreme: nationalized racism, isolationism, individualism primary, bloody Olympics, ideology; natural is proscribed, feelings and sexual relations have become sanitized; migrants are turned into slaves, cannon flesh or involuntary organ donors. The narration is well controlled, well proportioned twists keep the reader in suspense shaking. Planking manages to compose moving and colorful characters without falling into caricature. .
