I did it to me but not only brought for this, but wanted to use a number of other computers also.
and since I was clearly disappointed.
normal Windows PC -> no function
Linux -> no function
MacPro -> no function
old normal MacBook Pro -> no function
hab then made smart and found out that the controller of the drive function allows only on Macs that do not have a DVD drive. So only the MacBook Air, Mac mini and the MacBook Pro with Retina Display.
at a premium price of 80 I think that's simply a rip-off.
I have my old macbook converted and the internal DVD drive in favor of a 2 SSD expanded. but as I do every now and then a drive consumption I thought to myself, I'd be well served here with a genuine Apple product. but that's not the case.
because I can use it currently only on one device, it comes right back again and I will probably at my old USB - remain SATA Adapter allows me to integrate each SATA device without problems on any device.
when I wanted to use it on normal pc at first I thought it ok is probably due to the power supply, since Apple devices a lot more to spend on Amper USB port than other manufacturers. that would still have been ok for me.
but the fact that it is also in other new Apple devices do not work for me incomprehensible and I can not understand completely.
