This novel portrays atypical investigators (but eventually becomes a truth-cons as investigators are now always anti-hero). Almost everyone has his secrets and what secrets! So I agree with you, this novel reads easily but too many twists eventually wear out. I even had the impression that, artificially, the author had planned a rebound every x pages. Not to spoil the fun of reading to those who have not read it yet, I will not mention aspects of the story that I found totally implausible. And in the end, I could not go to these coincidences and this madness. The denouement of this novel reminded me of my favorite Agatha Christie, Hercule Poirot left the stage. Too strong, Agatha, she had staged this type of crime before everybody.
