The dumbbells are very good in the hand, pleasant grippy but not rough knurl, star locks keep the slices very safe. No abrasion or discoloration. Bought in conjunction with Gripper weight plates, the rods; two accidentally too much delivered discs I did not have to return, but was allowed to keep as a bonus - very accommodating.
