Satellite reception:
The receiver is what SAT reception terms really top. It runs on the latest software version 100% stabiel. The EPG (SFI) is top and updates itself automatically overnight. At first I had a satellite cable drann, now I also use the dual receiver for simultaneous recording and TV or "picture in picture" when advertising comes.
DVR:
Recordings on hard drive no problem either directly or via timer. Time shifting viewing is also nice, you just press the pause button while the tv and watched later on (or to watch a movie to start until later, then you can fast-forward the advertising). You realize how pleasant these functions are, if you have time and tried :-)
Internet / HbbTV:
There are a variety of "apps" that are integrated with which one can quite comfortable zugreiffen on div. Media libraries, online video stores, weather portals, news, online radio stations, etc.. That's all "very nice". I'm spoiled by IPAD & Co and compared to these Internet applications are rather slow and not as "sexy".
There also can be a browser of any sites that works quite well except for Flash and things like that.
HbbTV is the most direct library access to radio station with a couple of additional information such as news and television program guide.
Strangely, no longer finds max cathedrals on supported online video stores, which I find a negative!
Streaming / access from the PC / Smartphone on the receiver:
The receiver is available through the built-in UPnP server from other devices. So you can look at such as recorded TV programs on your Smartphone / Tablet. Also vice versa, you can from your PC and thus what stream directly to the receiver TV. This all works very well.
Furthermore, there is an iPhone app with which you can control the receiver, recording program, etc.
All in all a great box with a lot of potential. Whether you need the entire functions, you have to know yourself. The Internet features are nice, but I see not as a reason to buy.
