I use the EF 35 2.0 IS USM as a standard FB on my 70D. It replaced my previous Sigma EX 30 1.4 HSM, which I was actually always very satisfied. But I felt like something new and got me just once bought and did not regret. The 35er has a super-fast AF, which is what the marksmanship terms even better than any of my other lenses, more than my 70-200 4L USM can match. The sharpness is already open quite outstanding even to the edges, contrast and colors are also very beautiful. CA's are very well corrected and are unlikely to provoke. Very good like with the processing, weight and size that makes the 35er ideal Always plan. (The Sigma 35 1.4 ART would be for something clunky and difficult) The IS makes shooting with 1/5 sec. Out of hand very possible, so we can in relatively dark rooms even with f2 and ISO 100 pictures. For videos of IS is also very helpful. Manual focus is also very smooth and can be metered very good for videos without AF. The bokeh is mostly very nice, but I do not like many troubled background, here was my Sigma EX 30 1.4 HSM often a lot richer. For the 35 IS features very nice round Bokehballs and is for example very suitable for night Bokeh games in the city. Overall, the bokeh is so very good and much better than, say, the EF 50 II 1.8 or 1.4 50 USM or the old 35 2,0 without IS & USM. From my total full 5 stars, I would recommend the lens fully. If I had to criticize anything it would be that must be purchased separately the lens hood. Here I have the perfect fitting JJC Geli bought because my original Canon Geli was overpriced, this Canon I do not do politics with and therefore buy only JJC Gelis for my Canon lenses. Ne Lens Hood is part of the camera and should be shipped with the lens zumahl it in producing a penny article. In my L lens that went, too. But otherwise full satisfaction with the lens :-)
