Background:
---------------
I bought the 55pfl7008 the local dealer. Why this TV, now I had before 2 Panasonic TV: once the 55stw50 plasma, and then the 55dt50e. Why I get from this great TVŽs on a device that is intended to be much worse soo? The STW: baked 2 months old and all channel logos (I knew from my Samsung plasme not) answer Panasonic: That's the way, replace grace my panel .. Juhu goodwill .. So sold to and bought the DT50 .. Ok Edge LED is not known that the but it has a good illumination the .. 13 flashlights, bright corners which went into negative territory and to top it off: the left and right above about 20 cm away from the edge of the shadows were always seen. My calibration with Callman brought nix. Again at Panasonic called: images sent .. Answer: the flashlights, the illumination is in there what Panasonic looks to be reasonable in the context. the shadows are rejected due to manufacturing normal .. guarantee. AHA .. Fortunately, I a generous customer TV dealer .. Small but the Expert :-). So Panasonic exchanged and on it goes: Samsung 55F6770, Panasonic 55ETW60, Sony 55W808. Samsung: unnatural colors, and thanks to my Callamn Fields on the USB stick: very poorly exposed. Panasonic: Class picture but compared to Philips to matte, and blurred. Better illuminated than the Samsung. Sony: A little blur in motion. The dealer said that the Sony has only a 50Hz panel in it. But was not sure ..
Philips 55PFL7008:
--------------------
The dealer then showed me the 55PFL6098. The same 100Hz panel there also 700Hz image between calculation. But no DTS in MKV .. Then he pointed to the 7008. What a picture .. I played around on the TV, the PNM off and he had the best picture of all 3 previously tested TV which luckily all stood side by side. I have made the same picture settings to all TV, all image improvers from. And here the Philips had the more natural colors, was sharper in the movement and had a better brilliance.
The design and processing:
------------------------------
I find the design top. Narrow aluminum edge up when TV is off Frameless Desgin who the TV is on then you have is a framework of approx 1.5 cm wide. The "bump" where the Skype camera in it looks ok, here gets no Philips Design Award. BUT: The back wall. Hey what's going on the 100% finest black plastic .. Aha at a TV in this price range .. because Panasonic has metal. Wertig is different, Philips sit. 6
Sound:
-------
What better I have not heard. Rich bass, good heights. The much geschriene missing stereo effect was intense not determine test with me even after 3 hours.
Illumination, Clouding, black level
------------------------------------
The pfl7008 is an Edge LED lighting has the links. All Callamn fields (red, yellow, blue, cyan, white, gray, black) no clouds could be seen, even the TV very well illuminated. The strongest luminosity is in the center, to the sides, the illumination is slightly weaker, but, BD operation does not carry weight with TV. What shocked me was the positive rich, deep yes I will say almost plasma-like black. Of course that does not work with the default settings in which the TV here already has a very good black.
Operation, equipment, software:
---------------------------------
It was written here that it 45 minutes went to the TV all the channels found .. I do not know what time unit has been used here, but my TV was set up after exactly 25 minutes incl first station in the Favorites list, image adjustment, and on the net. Easy going just at Panasonic.
Also we read always slow, crashes ..
Topic Slow: yes afloat otherwise. But my opinion: The normal menus go. Sure you have to wait a bit but that's not wait seconds, minutes or years but a few milliseconds. What you have to do download the latest firmware from Philipps on a USB stick and the TV update. Again, nothing Voodoo: updating, leave 2 minutes in the standby mode, then route from the network for an additional 2 minutes. This process has to do with what the standby firmware (call wir`s backup). And yes, the switching is about 20 seconds to a TV picture .. Otherwise I could nachproduzieren no crashes, trailer or other. The runs just a little more comfortable :-) or as the copywriter would tell Philipps: Slow is the new fast: we take the hassle out of your TV live ..
3D and Ambilight
-------------------
Well 3D is 3D or stop? Neeee. The Polfiltertechnik is pleasant. When PFL I noticed that this has no ghosting. Very great 3D. Polarizer drawback: no 3D FullHD. But at 2.5m pitch one notices for Shutter (3D FullHD) no difference. And finally 3D in daylight. The Ambilight is the momentum .. Does that make television an experience. More need not be said
Internal TV tuner:
---------------------
The switching of the programs goes smoothly. not faster or slower than Panasonic. Only the TV Guide comes only two minutes later (yes, I said: Slow the new almost) the channels in HD, TOP (except Pro7 but unfortunately that is normal was also at Panasonic) SKY comes over very well. The SD channels brings over Philipps clean and clear.
Here the notes:
Picture: 9.5 / 10
Sound: 9.5 / 10
Design: 9.0 / 10
Processing: 8.0 / 10 (a minus point for plastic rear panel)
Condition: 7.0 / 10 (compared to the Panasonic and Samsung the world slowly but Philips is working)
But I admit still full 5 points because of Philips has a good image, good sound has, is the Ambilight the madness, and the condition is not as bad as everyone says, and I hope that in late FW 2 updates done to the has. I would buy this TV again, and what better for this money (1499) there is not on the market
