Located on one of the long sides of the boxes in when you purchased two plastic rods that can be easily "bend". Thank goodness I had when buying a "smart guy" here, which has seen through immediately that this stabilization of the box are, otherwise I would probably discarded as "novice gardener" as "production Committee". In the upper edge of the two longitudinal sides are namely two holes, into which these "bars", which each have a vertical deflection at the ends, can be used. In order for the two long sides of the box are then connected twice directly above the upper edge of the box and keep the box so in form. The good thing about these deployable interconnections is also that one as the box "into thirds," which means you can better estimate how large the planting distances must be to always have the same distance between plants. It has virtually the left third of the box, in which one uses for example, 2 plants, then comes the narrow transverse connecting rod and has in turn exactly one third planter for the next 2 plants, then the connecting rod and then the final third. I hope the explanation is understandable. Anyway, the box with the rods is also absolutely stable.
In the center of the base are distributed over the entire length four conical recesses, which are provided for the introduction of vent holes. Is very simple, only a few turn with a screwdriver or steak knife times. The holes are already pre-cut.
I originally thought that the boxes do not have drain holes and was downright angry about this "lousy" Quality, as I soaked earth vorfand last year when emptying the boxes with mold on the sides. But fortunately I have "been howling" me in a friend who then said that I should just keep the bottom of the box times up to the light, then I would see what points are provided for the drainage of excess water and to break through. Unbelievable but true, you have - against the light - actually seen directly in the ground around four more pre-cut points that were easily aushölen with the steak knife itself. Do not know why I had perceived only on the top of the Kegeleinbuchtungen curves for opening.
As for the size, do not match the dimensions specified throughout. The box is only 14 cm (not 14.5 cm) high, 17 cm (not 17.5cm) wide and has - as already mentioned by my Mitrezensenten - only an exterior length of about 98 cm.
Conclusion: The boxes have ventilation and drainage holes are, as I said super stable and very inexpensive. My advice, however, you buy at the hardware store, as they are a little cheaper there (excluding shipping charges) and can be especially sure also that the stabilizing rods are still welded. Total: No complaints regarding the quality - strong buy recommendation!
