I was really looking forward to this film. During the first 15 minutes I was however repeatedly tried simply turning off the film. The beginning is surreal, seems disturbing and destroyed in a certain way all the expectations you on a film adaptation of the biblical Noah history. That's the problem. The director tells its own story Noah. He has the freedom to interpret the story put in his own way and the storylines agree with his interpretation does not match the biblical setting. The message that the film sent to the people at the end of the story, is it more so. Leaving a, the, admittedly somewhat idiosyncratic interpretation of the history and allows the director to tell his story as he sees fit, one experiences a very good movie. Especially the performances from Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone and Emma Watson some worth seeing the film.
