Whether it ever works in such a constellation with the powerline network, is a matter of luck. Some years I'm sometimes more, sometimes less good risks with corresponding D-Link adapters. Means: In part, the network distance could be bridged, sometimes it just has a few days to stop working. This is now truly nothing I would chalk up the adapters or D-Link, or could - after the adapters are designed rather for use in a uniformly closed electrical circuit.
Just for fun I wanted to time the TP-Link AV1200 try (in this set of 2, ie Model TL-PA8010P Kit). Unwrapped, connected to the existing cables in both places just as a substitute and in exchange for the Devolo outlets - that was step 1. Step 2? Time tentatively the router in another floor anfunken ... Wow! The Devolo adapters were the last two days already incapacitated. The TP-Link have shown the mask with lightning speed ... Then times - compared to local wireless peripherals - pinged. And here absolutely desirable results.
To date, through the TP-Link stable and absolutely smoothly. Why do they run much more reliable than my old Devolo adapter I can not understand completely conclusive as technical layman, could here but better filter suspect? Fact: In order for example to drive the laser printer in the office space, my TP-Link adapters provide a perfect extent, completely uncomplicated solution. Real transfer rate I now have not specifically tested, since there is already some useful posts here that this case concisely below half the specified speed theory - which is already quite good.
