The new album is truly a surprise. It ties in to some "These Streets". After a very short confusion what Paolo Nutini because as now presented, the drive has been extended from the CD dealer home because I did not want to interrupt what I was hearing. "Forewarned" it was the single Candy, which had little to do with the sound of "These Streets". But something new came what one already knows anyway. A blend of Soul & Blues ("Coming up Easy", "No other way" with the voice of a white man who no longer so black sounded since Rod Stewart), 60s Flower Power (Candy), Reggae / Ska (10-10) Folk (Simple Things) and the more "independent singer / songwriter songs", which tie a bit of "These Streets" (growning up beside you "," Tricks of the Trade "), with here and there some Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen by sounds. One would, however, the album does not do justice to pack it in drawers, because somehow it is so consistent as an album with different facets in itself. And a total of Paolo Nutini stamp every song is so incomparably pressed by his voice, which here has a lot more expression and comes into its own, as in his first work. Anyone who hoped for a continuation of "These Streets", may initially be irritated or disappointed, and should still listen and be open to this album. Otherwise escapes him a true musical jewel.
