I got "Everything Is Borrowed" Birthday and knew by the name of "The Streets" to start anything. At first listen, I was prepared for many things, but to rap with British dialect so I had to get used first. R'n'B and HipHop is otherwise also not my genre. But already the first track has been enough to make me turn my astonishment in enthusiasm. "I came to this world with nothing, and I leave with nothing but love - everything else is just borrowed", so simple and yet so great, you have to first get. Ever noticed me how extensive you can tell stories with rap, without breaking the usual time frame, and if they still are so bizarre as that of Mike Skinner, then the arrival and listening is a delight. Again and again. In "On The Flip Of A Coin" it drives me even after weeks almost daily listening tears to my eyes, "On The Edge Of A Cliff" does - again with relatively simple means - thoughtful, to the decision making at the crossroads between heaven and hell "Heaven For The Weather," bitter self-criticism as "I Love You More (Than You Like Me)" and the history of mine "The Sherry End": Except for "The Way Of The Dodo" I Skippe mostly because my eternal the Repetition of "Dough-dough" quickly comes to the bird, the album from beginning to end is never boring, annoying or boring. This is partly due to the varied music with nice sound gimmicks and the total absence of stupid Beatz, Battle-Skillz and the plates Gangsta Geprolle that makes otherwise unbearable me HipHop. I mean, even those who come more from the rock / pop corner, can confidently embark on this "streets".
So I as an unbiased Surprised can only say: super album !! I could not have been given, I would never know it, and that would be a pity. Thank Johann!
