Ultimex in the Family of Steve (Paperback)

Customer Review

Born from the fertile imagination of François Gadant says Gad Ultimex wears the suit and tie with a certain class: sure of his virility, it is perfectly misogynistic, homophobic, racist, alcoholic and violent. Notable physical feature (although perfectly unknown to the protagonists of his adventures), a huge eye takes the place of head. His companion sprees, Steve, "the Stooges prodigy", the face of the ideal son, his thoughts nevertheless indicate a strong intrinsic perversity: loose, homo repressed, sycophant, are the qualities of Steve. Both are very rich, allowing them the luxury of being completely idle.

This adventure in the family of Steve begins to Aqualand Ultimex which shows that he has a strong sex appeal and then embeds the latter in Steve's parents celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Obviously it's going to go on a lollipop ...

Excerpts:
- Ultimex, making themselves beautiful for the occasion: "a family reunion is always the opportunity to test his rhetoric There will be one or two grandpas fascists put to the test."
- Ultimex disguised as Father Christmas: "Good children now come on my knees or I will kill your dad!"

The absurd rubs the grotesque, sometimes sordid, but still some finesse. Nothing (or so) is free in Ultimex Gad crunches cynical (realistic so) through the inherent to mankind: all that can be said is dropped casually.

Unfortunately a little short (22 pages), but in a nice size A5 (fanzine genre) "Ultimex in the family of Steve" has the merit of introducing -with violence donc- these characters so endearing and charismatic.

To reserve for enthusiasts of black humor, and prohibits the apostles of the first degree.
