However, only the TN36 CW (cool white) actually has 6,500 ANSI lumens. The TN 36 NW (Neutral White) has only about 5,500 lumens. This was confirmed by the producers themselves on consultation and it has been confirmed by flashlights freaks in various forums by measurements.
The TN36 northwest compensates for this, however, by a very pleasant light color without disturbing green cast. And "real" 5,500 lumens are still more than you as an individual normally ever needed. Anyone who wants to get an idea of the power of this lamp, should take a look in the TLF forum, where there are many stunning night shots.
The TN36 is unique with its extremely wide viewing angle on the market. It lights up the immediate environment of extreme light output, but has no such broad reach. That is probably the reason for many a disappointment. That is so, like comparing an ultra-wide-angle lens with a telephoto zoom.
About one to any interested parties should, however, be clear about the enormous light output is bought with a very high current hunger and corresponding heat generation. In Turbo mode, which is the highest light level just minutes operation are possible, because the lamp is incredibly hot and then can no longer be held with bare hands. However, a continuous operation is possible in the second highest level of at least 2,280 lumens.
The user interface is simple and practical. Short clicking the button turns the lamp on by pressing and holding all lighting levels except Turbo and Ultra-Low. Long Click enabled ultra-low with 1.6 ANSI lumens, a double-activates the Turbo.
Since the battery cage is a little tight (unfortunately a known ThruNite disease), you should look for when buying battery on acquiring the shortest possible copies. I use batteries Keep Power PCB and 3,400 mAh.
