The Featherlite pants are made of an ultra-lightweight (120 g!), Almost windproof, highly water repellent, yet very breathable material (Pertex) produced. For this purpose a tiny pack size - and finished the nearly perfect everywhere-It (About) pants for hikers and cyclists. The Pertex material is indeed extremely thin, yet amazingly tear resistant; but it should be clear that these pants were not designed for the crossing of thorns. Through its high breathability, it can even be comfortably worn next to the skin.
On the bike you can withstand rain showers dry, protected from wind and mud; a hiker has it also a perfect insect repellent and can also withstand prolonged rain well. I have a multi-day hike with plenty of rain no rain pants used (with a combined poncho). If the trousers but once being soaked or washed, the drying time is ultra short.
By zippers and Velcro closures makes the Featherlight adapt well as overtrousers it is large and slippery enough to not impede walking or cycling.
The only disadvantage in everyday use is the lack of pockets, you have to be careful that you do not lose the stuff sack. Even a quick repair of the tissue is hardly possible, because seam sealer or adhesive tapes do not adhere to it.
