Here is a very different story from what I've read so far. Beyond the title and the cover that are highly subjective, one might expect a rather cutesy story. But this is not the case at all. This is of course a romance but also a story of a man and a woman, each with a personal battle to fight: His battle against alcoholism, it's lack of confidence in his physique that does not match English female population of the nineteenth century and the fact that she is a woman who runs a large estate.
Throughout the pages, we will, of course, discover the birth of a love between our two heroes but especially what Reginald ways will release catch his addiction and with the valuable help of his valet, his godfather and well Alys sure. Once again, it attaches to the main characters but also to secondary. It is well written, enjoyable to read. We are touched by the compassion of Alys for Reginald.
I devoured again this novel. I had a good relaxing time.
