Benefits
- Steamer and Blender in and it's really easy. Vegetables or meat snip, fill in the tank, the water in the opening provided - done. The device beeps when it's done. Turn container, mix serve.
Theoretically, really great. If it were not for all the small and big disadvantages were.
Small disadvantage: get open the container first, because I am at the beginning of almost failed because it jammed. This is but the beginning probably normal and with time it will be easier.
The included book contains recipes, but few and very confusing because each recipe is constantly changing language. So not all of the recipes in German, then in English, French and so on ... but carrots, etc in German, English, French and potato carrot in all languages. Search For excitation but cumbersome and original recipes are not (they have but with a baby not be). Since you prefer to buy a separate book (eg cooking for babies - 5 Euro, was recommended to us by the pediatrician)
Porridge is very quickly from about 200g namely potato, vegetables and meat. These three components need different lengths in the steamer, so that you ever have to steaming times in the worst case. The same applies if you want to pre-cook. I like cooking for a week before, the container holds but maximum 400g, which corresponds approximately two daily rations ... Making porridge so then happy times takes a whole afternoon.
The device is difficult to clean, there are plenty of small corners and edges. If you want to do that after a dose of carrot that's no problem - dishwasher or co make it possible. Boil before but want and multiple steaming and mix it quickly becomes a mess. Best before everything steamer, fill in an extra container and then mix gradually. That's pretty sticky and easy impractical.
In addition, the performance of the device is mediocre. Vegetables works quite well, as long as you clean fills too much (be sure to pay attention to the Makierung). Potatoes mix by the strength but rather difficult and it is hoped each time that the device does not give up the ghost.
Meanwhile, I cook the stuff rather quickly in the pot and mix everything by using a hand blender. The blender, I use only to cook meat and mix. The meat I have in ice cube sizes always in stock and there is enough to make 400g completed every few weeks.
So I use the steamer, which has cost at least 100 maybe once a month.
Makes sense of the steamer only if you want to either cook fresh every day (and babies need no daily variety that you can read everywhere), or if it is intended for many children. For a child, that about 4 to 8 months is porridge, it's not really worth it.
The big advantage, you get used to the steamer at least half of the purchase price. And I hope it then simply times and am not quite so sad about buying - even if I did then but conventionally cooked porridge
