Benefits:
- Work suitable resolution (1920x1200), a 16:10 aspect ratio
- Easy to identify right size, more compact than a 24-incher, but typeface.
- Black value and illumination perfect
- No IPS Glow, no "crystal effect" (anti-glare), but good anti-reflective coating
- Extremely high contrast, high brightness, easily controllable
- Silently
- Mechanics, handling, processing quality - everything was perfect, no comparison with other manufacturers! (NEC and Quato apart)
Easier Disadvantages:
- The monitor has an extended color space, which is useful only in conjunction with an appropriate graphics software (and a color calibrator). Anyone wishing to use the PC mainly normal (Office, Internet, development, ...) and not constantly bright red faces, would see bright candy colors and green veil, requires the "normal" sRGB color space.
- In addition to the native color profile you can also AdobeRGB and sRGB profile Select (then I have set as a hobby photographer and non-graphic artists). Unfortunately, both are implemented miserable, even in sRGB mode remain colors gaudy, yellow is rather bilious green, faces red as a lobster. Who wants to work with this monitor, requires colorimeter, calibration and profiling software.
- There are other superfluous and senseless profiles: "Office", "Movie", "Photo", .... what-do-I.
- The automatic brightness control is not working properly, so annoying after a short time, but can be disabled.
The absolute knock-out criterion:
The backlight (CCFL backlight) flickers at 100 Hz (this so-called PWM flicker occurs even with max. Brightness), so clearly perceptible. My old EIZO brought it after all at 140Hz, which at least I do not perceive. Upper and lower half of the screen are also driven here out of phase, which does not make things any better. Contrasting image content, such as black text on a white background, pulling with every eye movement red / blue banners and multiple images behind them. After 40 minutes, no further work is no longer possible, his eyes burning and tearing, headache leave until the night again. Well rested and with fresh coffee I have it the next morning tried again with the same result, after 40 minutes was nothing.
CONCLUSION:
The much too low PWM frequency of backlight prevent use as a working tool. The sRGB color space emulation is not implemented properly, I had (without colorimeter) to find great difficulty acceptable settings. Otherwise the monitor (the panel in particular) is simply lonely peak. Without limiting the foregoing shortcomings, I would like to get paid more.
